Thirike is definitely an enjoyable weekend film for the whole family.Aishwarya Lekshmi Height, Weight, Age, Boyfriend, Husband, Family, Biography & Wiki. Gopi Krishna is definitely a scene stealer and hilarious in scenes, such as when he ‘gets ready’ to save his drowning brother. George brings a smile to your face as the lovable rogue. The music by Ankit Menon is pleasant enough. The frames showing the old house, and the brother’s inside the dilapidated place almost make you crave for a little cozy corner like it. The cinematography by Cherin Paul for this lovingly directed movie deserves a special mention. Both Thoma and Sebu’s mother are possessive of his love and scared of losing it they don’t think that he loves each of them intensely for what they mean in his life. And his portrayal of love is thought-provoking and mature. Still, there are a couple of satisfyingly ‘laughing through tears’ moments, which is George the writer’s forte. And the feel-good elements seem a bit contrived. Sosamma ammachi’s story of an elderly lady waiting for her son to take her with him feels too played out. But it is a complex story and George perhaps tries to be too light-hearted, leaving the viewer largely untouched. Thirike delves lovingly and poignantly into the subject of having memories and the crucial importance for people to have a family and a home to feel rooted to. Also, the idea of having a character with Down's syndrome serves to show that we are perhaps burdened by our memories, rather than enjoying living in the present like Sebu does. His older brother loves him very much, but he also has a new family that he loves. And while, with the help of next door neighbour Sosamma ammachi (Sarasa Balussery), Thoma tries to recreate childhood memories, he finds that his hold on Sebu is tenuous.

He ‘kidnaps’ Sebu and the brothers travel to their childhood parental home, which is lying deserted and overgrown, and spend a couple of days there. But Thoma wants more, and when Sebu tells him that they are moving to Dubai, the younger brother is determined to not allow a separation again. Sebu is adopted, while Thomas gets left behind, but the adoptive parents (mother played by Shanthi Krishna) allow the brothers, when they are young men, to meet again every year on Sebu’s birthday. George who has co-directed this film with Sam Xavier, also enacts the lead character of Thoma who has been separated from his older brother, Sebu (Gopi Krishna Varma), when they were children growing up in an orphanage. But as a storyteller, he tries to show us again that no situation is too grim if tackled with a joyous attitude. Review: Writer George Kora of Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela fame, brings us another heartwarming tale of family ties with Thirike in more bleak settings. Story: Brothers Thoma and Sebastian were separated in their childhood and get together again as young men, and Thoma is determined they won’t be separated again.
